WHAT WE DO

The Green Workers Alliance mobilizes current and future workers in the clean energy industry to build support for green jobs policies that expand the sector and enhance job quality. We are currently focusing our organizing efforts on the 40,000 workers on utility-scale solar and wind projects.

WHO WE ARE

We are a project of PowerSwitch Action, a national network of leading regional advocacy organizations that support innovative solutions to our nation’s economic and environmental problems. More than 1,800 renewable energy workers across the country have joined us, and our leadership organizing committee meets monthly. GWA is a member of the Climate Justice Alliance and collaborates with unions such as LIUNA, the Utility Workers, and IBEW. Our funders include the Ford Foundation, the Nathan Cummings Foundation, the Climate and Clean Energy Equity Fund, the 11th Hour Project, the Freedom Together Foundation, 128 Collective, the Fund to Build Grassroots Power, and the Carmack Collective.

About Us

We bring together current and future workers in a wide range of green jobs to advocate for policies that both fight climate change and increase the number of good, clean jobs while fighting for better working conditions and pay for current workers. We are currently focused on organizing solar and wind workers on utility-scale projects. The Green Workers Alliance is a project of PowerSwitch Action. We are just getting started, please join us as we grow!

The Green Workers Alliance does not intend or seek to represent employees at any employer regarding their employees’ terms and conditions of employment, or to bargain with any employer.
